Spring In My Step
YOU GUYS! It’s finally finally warm outside! AAAAAAAH! I am all too glad, and my fingers are crossed that this weather sticks around. This is also the perfect weather to pull out my new favorite dress for spring: this rose denim dress.
The title of this post, Stop & Smell the Roses, is a good reminder to me lately to remember that my rosey inspiration doesn’t have to be limited to just outfits. I’ve been dealing with a lot (read: a ton) of apartment troubles, and learning that it is really hard to come out of the Boston housing market smelling like a rose. Even though I have been more stressed, busy, and overwhelmed than I can say over the past few weeks; I’m remembering how lucky am I to have the support system I have. Even though everything isn’t quite rosey yet–there are plenty of roses to stop and smell along the way.
I talked about in my last post how the inspiration I’m focusing on for the upcoming weeks all based around roses. Here’s an outfit showing how you can incorporate a nice springy floral into your outfit without going totally pink.
This denim dress has the cutest rose appliques, which are perfect for brightening it up for spring. It adds enough pink to make it more interesting than a typical denim dress, but it’s no floral overload. To keep everything extra rosey, too, I added a bloom or two (or more) to say “hello spring!”
Good Denim vs. Bad Denim
This dress wins in the “good denim” category. It is structured but still stretchy and oh, so comfortable. I’ve had many a denim dress before fit in the “bad denim” realm for being too thin, too easily wrinkled, or just too cheap feeling. This rose denim dress is none of the above. Plus I just really can’t get over how cute the little pops of pink all over are!
For the accessories, I kept it super simple. That’s one of the best parts about a fun dress–everything else you wear can just let the dress do the talking. What do you think? Does this look have you as excited for spring as it does me?
