Often in the world of beauty there are those products that cause you to do a double take. Why would anyone buy that!? As a true beauty junkie, I’ve tried a lot of those products, and I’m happy to say that some are total game changers. I’ve pulled some of my favorites to share with you guys here. Bonus: each of these products are under $100, with prices ranging from $12-$79. So if you’re hunting for the perfect gift for your beauty-obsessed friend or family – look no further!
To say I was skeptical when a pillow case boasted anti-aging, anti-bedhead, AND anti-sleep-crease is an understatement. I rolled my eyes and moved on. Then I got extensions (more on that coming soon), and silk pillow cases are recommended to keep the hairs from getting fuzzy – something that cotton cases are prone to cause.
So I scooped up one of these cases, and I gotta say, I notice a difference. I don’t have bedhead, and my skin is looking better. No more random breakouts! I kind of had a face-palm moment when I thought “what touches your face longer than a pillow case?” Of course this would be a game changer!
Did you know J. Crew just launched a beauty sections? Psssst, they’re also offering 50% off EVERYTHING today for Cyber Monday. Lord, please grant me self control, because I surely need it.
Anyhow, they’ve got these polish sets that are super pretty. I classify these as “odd” because typically lower-priced “kit” kinds of nail polishes have me turning the other way. These color combos, however, are so dreamy. The polish quality is also on par with higher-end polishes I’ve used. Plus, made in France. Ooo La La. I think these would make perfect little gifts for your girlfriends this season.
This spray is an odd one: it’s not dry shampoo, and it’s not a hair spray. The spray is made for dry hair (unlike most wave sprays). As someone who, ahem, rarely washes their hair, a dry-hair-wave-spray is a rare and wanted find.
This spray is only $14 and available at Target. I picked up a bottle and use it on the days that I just don’t feel like curling my hair. It instantly pumps my hair full of volume, curl, and looks like I’ve spent more than the 3 seconds it took to style it. Kristin Ess has also made these adorable gift sets for the holidays – perfect for beauty guru girlfriends.
This is one of the best and strangest beauty products I’ve ever used. It’s a rice powder that works miracles. You sprinkle a tiny bit into your hand, add water, and the powder begins to foam a tiny bit. You then use it as a normal face wash.
I’ve talked about how much I love this spray before, and I am still a huge fan. I’m saying it’s an odd product because I was not sold on the idea of essentially buying water to spray on my face. It is so much more than that though! It’s packed with essentials that get your skin glowing, sets your makeup, and refreshes a “I’ve been awake a little too long” look.
Another polish! I had to post this because I’ve literally wanted to try this polish for years. I just bought it at J. Crew who is newly carrying it. It is only $12, and I’m now reaching the end of week 1 of wearing this polish with zero chips.
I first saw it at Catbird NYC in Brooklyn, and drooled over the packaging. So lovely! Calling this odd because it’s a rare find. Plus it is 100% natural and environmentally friendly, which isn’t a given with polishes these days.
I hope you treat yourself or others to these game changers this season! Give these a try to shake up your routine, and let me know if you do!
