Sipping on Strawberries
I might or might not have been channeling my inner Polly (or Veronica…) for this shoot. In case you didn’t catch that reference, my latest guilty pleasure has been binging Riverdale on Netflix, so to sit in an old fashioned booth sipping a milkshake was too much fun. (Minus all the teen drama, of course ;))
When I visited Austin a few weeks ago, I knew I wanted to visit Sawyer & Co. This place has rave reviews and the beyond perfect set up for retro-vibes and milkshakes.
J. Crew has been releasing more of their collaborations with Liberty of London this spring and summer. It could be that I’m a sucker for the Liberty of London’s backstory (they’re an 1800s print house turned lux goods store in London), but I cannot get enough of these prints. They’re so delightfully floral, preppy, and crisp.
I wanted to pair this blazer with a pair of fun shorts to show how business wear doesn’t have to be strictly business. This is a fun way to get more use out of pieces that might traditionally be thought of as office wear.
The Long and Short of It
Fair warning: I am not a shorts girl, but these shorts have me 100% won over. They are so flattering, easy to wear, and even make a t-shirt and sneakers look like a polished outfit.
Thank you so much to Sawyer & Co. for letting me crash your patio at 8am. Seriously–one of the cutest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Not to mention the milkshake was SO GOOD! As if that wasn’t enough, the staff was totally lovely, accommodating, and generous, too. If you’re in Austin, you have to go!
Another thanks to the positively fabulous Elizabeth Cook for taking these photos, who is equally wonderful, lovely, and generous. (If you need proof about how great she is–please read about how I totally spaced on her. Ha.)
