A Big (Little) Addition To Our Family
You guys. I am over the moon in love with my new little buddy. His name is Tate, and he joined my family about a week ago. Tate is my little French Bulldog puppy that I’ve been looking forward to meeting for the past several months. I signed on to be Tate’s girl before he was born, and finally got to take him home this past weekend! Tate is a Texas pup, and I flew in last Thursday night to scoop him up. If you know me, you know how long I’ve wanted a dog of my own, and I’m convinced I got the most perfect one. I could gush forever.
11 Weeks Old
Mr. Tate is a sweet, sweet guy. He is smart, loves to learn new things, and is always ready to explore. My family came back with me to Boston after I got him, and we were all constantly oooo-ing and aaaw-ing over how calm, smart, and good he is. I was especially worried about flying with Tate. A baby puppy on a plane doesn’t exactly translate to easy-going! But you guys. He. Was. Perfect. He lied in my arms and slept the entire trip. Not once did he get scared or have any accidents. He is a star.
Also on the plane, we discovered air conditioning. I truly did not realize what a lux experience airplane air conditioning was until I saw it through the eyes of a baby French Bulldog! When Tate felt the air vents on the plane–oh my–he couldn’t get enough. He reclined back in my arms, belly up, and waved his face back and forth to catch the breeze. Ooo la la.
In The Life of Puppy Tate
Right now, we play hard and sleep a lot. His favorite toys are his lobster, his monkey, and a stegosaurus chew toy that was a gift from Uncle Charlie. Besides his name, we call him Tough Stuff and our Stinky Buddy. He is litter box trained (almost!) perfectly and just learned how to sit. Tate is fascinated by getting under the couch, getting air blown on his face, and getting treats out of the Kong.
We play lots of games. One of our favorites is pretending our fingers are spiders. He will chase my spider-fingers across the floor and pounce! Sometimes, he likes us to tickle-tickle his belly hard while he kicks his little paws in the air. This puppy knows his name and loves running very fast. When I get down and call him, he speeds into my arms. Did I mention I could gush forever?
