There’s no shortage of suggestions for what to wear this holiday season (spoiler alert–velvet or sparkles). But I’m often needing a little nudge to figure out the best ways to actually celebrate outside of the regular traditions. This year, instead of only offering outfit suggestions, I’m sharing the best holiday and/or winter inspired cocktails you can find across Boston. PLUS an outfit that’s perfect for the occasion. First up, I’m sharing what I found in Seaport and South End.
My ‘hood! Happy to say it’s one of the trendier neighborhoods, so for my look, I opted for something über contemporary and fun. Here’s the links to my belt, shoes, and top. Here’s a similar pick to my vest; mine’s sold out! The pants are MIA online. I’ll keep an eye out for them. I like that this look is built from pieces that stand on their own or look fantastic together.
I think Seaport is the perfect place for a girls’ night out to celebrate the holidays before everyone breaks for a trip home. Here’s where I’d go wearing this look:
WHERE TO GO:
Drink is known for its… well… drinks. Needless to say, this is everyone’s go-to for great cocktails in Seaport. Drink doesn’t have a cocktail menu, instead, the bartenders ask you to describe your ideal drink and then they go to work. So when it comes to a holiday beverage, maybe suggest something to make your spirits bright. Or if you’re needing to warm up, request their Blue Blazer – a cocktail whose main ingredient is fire!
This is a spot that is much delicious as it is insta-worthy (something that’s important in my book). They’ve also got a cocktail menu that rivals the best bars. For the holidays, they’re featuring an assortment of pop up holiday shops featuring local artists. So you can sip and shop all at once, and what says “holidays” more than that?
With a perfect view of the Seaport Christmas Tree, Gather is the perfect place to round up your friends before the holiday. You can give back, too, by ordering a Nantucket Mule – $1 is donated from each order to the Friends of Boston’s Homeless. Doing good while having good times; what could be better?
Fire Pits By the Water
If you’re already feeling plenty holly and jolly, skip the drinks and head right for the peanut butter hot chocolate at By Chloe off of Seaport Blvd. It’s so, so good! Plus the marshmallows are vegan, so you don’t feel too guilty. Then head on over to the (free!) fire pits located along the waterfront right next to By Chloe.
