In keeping with my Christmas-with-a-twist posts, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite cookie recipes I’ve found this year. After all, ’tis the season for cookies! Plus, here’s a look that will match your treats perfectly and carry through every cocktail party you come across this season.
The Black & White Cookie
Being an new East Coaster, and trying to embrace all things east coasty, I tried my hand at black and white cookies earlier this year. They are a New York staple! Oh. Man. These things are everything I love in a cookie. A little bit of icing, a cookie that’s not too too sweet, and both a touch of vanilla and chocolate. Plus the subtle lemon. So good.
This is my absolute favorite B&W cookie recipe by, of course, the Pioneer Woman. I am not a big time baker, and even I think these are super easy. Plus you’ll feel very accomplished if you use a piece of parchment paper to guide your glaze. Everyone will think you’d a baker extraordinaire!
What to Wear
Wouldn’t it be chic to host an updated milk & cookies party? But instead of 2% and chocolate chip, you serve up milk punch alongside black & white cookies? I think Santa would show up for that.
Here’s what I’d wear to a chic Christmas cocktail party, or maybe even a New Year’s Eve shindig. Bring you’re black and white cookies as a hostess gift. What’s better than matching your baked goods?
This dress is obviously super fitted, but it’s also very comfy. Enough stretch to not have you regretting having an extra cookie or too, but not so much it loses it’s shape.
Fingers crossed I’ll have ample opportunity to bust this dress out throughout the holiday season. However, this little number is totally appropriate for any and every season, so it’ll be around again and again.
